Internship

OSS Global Foundation internship programs prepare young IT Caribbean professionals to become future leaders in their workplace and contribute to its economic development.  The programs are designed to provide them with a theoretical foundation and a practical proficiency in advanced IT technologies and professional certifications. The great thing about being an OSS Global Foundation intern is to gain valuable professional experience in cutting-edge technologies, build the international network, improve English and kick-start the career.

Internship experience give young professionals extremely valuable insight into how specific technology works and give them opportunities for developing practical skills while gaining real hands-on work experience to better position them for professional careers. The programs enable young Caribbean IT specialists to improve their skills in areas such as software and systems engineering, programming, business development, and project management.

OSS Global Foundation is committed to work with local, regional, and international partners such as USAID, World Bank to advance technologies in Caribbean through the internship programs .

The duration of each program is three months and internships run in four cycles throughout the year. Preference is given to people who have strong English skills. Each intern is given a predetermined assignment and workspace, which vary according to the individual’s skills and interests and the nature of his/her assignment. Interns are supervised directly by a staff member and are under the overall coordination and mentorship of the Internship Program Coordinator. In addition, OSS Global Foundation is providing accommodation close by the training facility.

These programs give recent graduates, and young professionals the chance to pursue an internship in the United States as part of the US government's J-1 Exchange Visitor Program.
